[. . . ] Your radio identifies these traffic programme stations and gives the TP indication - Traffic Programme - on the display C i. Other radio networks do not air traffic messages by themselves, but transmit the TP code of another radio network with traffic information service (e. g. If the ARI function is activated (ARI ans TP illuminates on the display), your radio will automatically switch to the traffic programme station (e. g. GLR) for the duration of the traffic announcement and will switch back again to the previous station (BBC2) after the end of the message. Traffic messages are `put through' with a preset volume, the level of which can be programmed (see chapter `Programming'). The set automatically interrupts CD playback and resumes play as soon as the message is over. Switching Traffic Messages (ARI) On and Off This function allows you to mute all the stations which do not broadcast traffic announcements. If your radio is tuned to a station without ARI code, the acoustic alarm will sound after approx. When pressing the ARI button while listening to an MW or LW station, the unit automatically switches to an FM traffic station. When ARI is activated, you can only capture traffic stations which transmit an ARI signal. Acoustic Alarm When leaving the coverage area of the tuned in traffic station, your car radio automatically sends out an acoustic alarm after approximately 30 seconds. This alarm tone can also be heard when pressing a preset button with no ARI station allocated to it. For switching off the acoustic alarm, search for a new station (see chapter `Tuning in a Station Automatically'). Sampling Memorized Stations with PS All memorized stations of a waveband can be briefly sampled. The car radio will then start introducing all memorized stations of the selected waveband one after another. If no station is stored on a preset button, this button is skipped. 28 The set will then start searching for the next traffic station. Automatic Start of the Station Seek Operation (CD Playback) When leaving the coverage area of the tuned in traffic station, your car radio will automatically start searching for a new traffic station while you are listening to your CD. During the seek operation, an alarm tone is sent out. Inserting a CD The disc drive of your car radio allows you to play standard CDs or 3" CDs without adapter. Insert a CD (with the label facing upwards), but do not apply any force. The set starts to play the CD. Rocker switch depressed Tracks are skipped. If the rocker switch is pressed only once, the track being played at the given moment will be repeated from the beginning, provided the track had already been played for more than 5 seconds. By pressing it repeatedly or keeping it depressed, several music tracks can be skipped successively. The number of the selected music track lights up in the display under Track C b. Ejecting a CD Press the CD eject button 9 for more than 1 second. Do not impede or support the automatic insert or eject process to protect the CD mechanism. [. . . ] For changing the dash and to enter a selected character, press the right part of the rocker switch << / >> E several times. The display will give you one after the other the capital letters (A-Z), the umlauts, the special characters and the numbers 0-9. The selected character iluminates and the following one starts flashing in the display. For changing the previous character, press the on/off knob 1 longer than 2 secs. When you have entered the name and wish to enter a name for another CD, insert the next CD. [. . . ]
